About Kensington

Kensington International Kindergarten is an International Kindergarten offering a curriculum based on the Early Years Foundation Stage and the British National Curriculum. We are committed to providing excellence in Early Childhood Education. We believe that for your child to reach their full potential we must provide a stimulating, creative and innovative environment where children become engaged and effective learners.

It is well documented that the first few years of a child’s life are fundamental in terms of their development. Hence, our promise to parents is that every single child in our care will enjoy a warm, safe, stimulating, individual and age appropriate education that will prove to be a critical foundation in their life- time love of learning, development and vital confidence building.

We only have your child for a few short years but we take a long term perspective and see them as future adults and leaders. In light of this, we make every effort to create a solid platform that can be built on. The Kensington kindergarten has everything needed for successful, well-rounded children.

Mission Statement

At Kensington International Kindergarten our aim is to create a positive environment for learning, where children, parents and teachers will join together on a journey of discovery.

Our Philosophy

"Free the child's potential, and you
will transform him/her into the world"
Play based learning is the methodology used to underpin the curriculum for all year groups at Kensington International Kindergarten. The rationale behind embracing this philosophy is multi-faceted; however primarily we want every child to be motivated, engaged and independent in their own learning. Research tells us that play is vital in Early Childhood as it allows children to make sense of their world and encourages active learning.

Active learning is something which helps children to develop some of the skills they will need throughout their school and adult lives. For example they are able to practice social and language skills, challenge themselves in physical activities, experiment and think creatively and develop a sense of their own identity. We provide surroundings where children can explore and discover and where their natural curiosity, creativity and imagination are cultivated. As teachers we are committed to providing a safe and stimulating environment where children can explore with confidence. Teachers will act as positive role-models available to encourage and extend children’s play and to encourage more complex thinking. Children will be treated as individuals and as such each will follow an individualized learning plan which will be constantly reviewed by the teacher following ongoing observations.

Together we are preparing today’s children for tomorrow’s world. This will be possible as we work collectively, providing a warm, happy and caring community in which to enable our children to flourish.
