From bold sculptural artworks to moving toy car designs, our Year 1 & 2 students have been creating, building and thinking like artists and engineers.

Year 1 – STEAM Toy Car Making Project
Our Year 1 children became designers and engineers as they created their STEAM learning as they created own moving toy cars. They built a chassis with axles and wheels, then designed and painted their car bodies using recycled materials. The project brought together creativity, problem-solving and teamwork.
We were very impressed by their innovation, resilience and pride in their final designs.

Year 2 – Louise Nevelson Inspired Relief Sculptures.
They explored texture, shape and form through relief sculptures inspired by Louise Nevelson. Using cardboard, found shapes and careful construction, the children created detailed sculptural surfaces. They then spray-painted their work in one colour to make each piece look unified, just like Nevelson’s famous assemblages.
The results were bold, textured and beautifully sculptural.
