Ms. Lorna has been teaching across Early Years and Key Stage One for fourteen years. She first graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree with Honours in Archaeology from the University of Nottingham. After enjoying an exciting time working in this field, she decided to follow her passion for education, and graduated from the University of Nottingham with a PGCE Primary with Distinction and QTS in 2011. Her new career began with three years as a Reception teacher in London. After this, she taught Reception and Nursery classes at a British international school in Qatar, where she took a Middle Leadership Development course, and was promoted to Early Years Curriculum Leader.

In 2018, Lorna moved to Thailand and joined Kensington International School for the first time. She spent five years here, as a Lead Teacher in Toddler, Nursery, Reception and Year 1 classes. She also led the Read Write Inc phonics programme across the school. It was during this time that she developed a real passion for ensuring that the same high standard of child-led, play-based learning so effective in the Early Years is extended into Key Stage One for the benefit of children’s well-being and all-round success.

Since then, Lorna has been working as a Year 1 teacher and House Leader at a different international school in Qatar. She has also been working towards a Masters in Educational Leadership and Management at the University of Nottingham. Lorna is very excited to be coming back to Kensington as Year 1 Teacher and Team Leader.
