Languages are an integral part of our diverse curriculum at Kensington, giving children the opportunity to embrace new cultures and languages. We offer three language options tailored to different year groups, ensuring a stimulating introduction to each language.
Thai
Kru Pim, Kru A, and Kru Kanun lead our engaging Thai language and culture programme, offering the children a minimum of three hours of Thai language classes weekly, with the option to extend to a fourth hour for extra practice. The programme combines language learning with cultural appreciation, allowing children to strengthen their connection to Thailand’s rich heritage and develop confidence in conversational Thai.

Mandarin
Mandarin is one of the additional language options available at Kensington, taught by Ms Chen. The Mandarin programme introduces children to foundational language skills, including basic reading, writing, and tonal pronunciation, essential for understanding this tonal language. Through interactive and engaging lessons, students gain an introduction to the language while also exploring elements of Chinese culture.
French
French is another exciting option, led by Ms Matti. Through a lively introduction to the French language, children are exposed to basic vocabulary, common phrases, and cultural insights, providing a foundation in both spoken and written French. This early exposure fosters an appreciation for French-speaking cultures and builds a love for language learning.
