Ms. Gemma is a passionate and dedicated educator with a rich and varied career in teaching. After graduating from the University of Birmingham in 2019 with a 2:1 honours degree in History of Art, Gemma set off on an exciting adventure, teaching English in Thailand. However, due to the global impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, she returned to the UK and continued pursuing a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) at University of Hertfordshire.
She began her teaching career in a small village school in Essex, where she taught Key Stage 1 and Reception. As a class teacher, she worked hard to improve the school’s outdoor learning space, bringing more opportunities for creative and experiential learning to the children.
Seeking new challenges, Gemma moved to London, where she took on a leadership role. As head of Early Years she supported developing a setting and curriculum that enabled academic, social and emotional progress for all children. Her focus remains on fostering a nurturing and enriching environment, with a particular interest in learning through play, mindfulness, and creative teaching strategies that support children’s holistic development.
