Ms. Mia enjoyed volunteering in a variety of schools when studying for her three-year Primary Education degree in Bristol. She studied at the University of the West of England where she graduated in 2023 with a First-Class BA Honours in Primary Education with QTS.

Mia then began her career teaching as a year 1 teacher in a four-form entry, inner city Bristol school that achieved “Outstanding” Ofsted status in October 2023. She learnt a lot from working with a large team of teachers, and prides herself on her communication skills and adaptability. Last year, Mia taught in year 3 to gain experience of teaching the British National Curriculum across all key stages. She is very excited to join the team at Kensington, and can’t wait to approach every new opportunity with positivity and enthusiasm.

As a teacher, I firmly believe that learning thrives in an environment where students feel supported, respected, and empowered. My teaching philosophy centers on creating a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere where every student’s voice is valued. By cultivating mutual respect and shared ownership of our learning space, I encourage students to take pride in their contributions, fostering a sense of belonging that leads to a love of learning.

Interactivity is at the heart of my teaching style. I design dynamic lessons that actively engage students through discussions, hands-on activities, and collaborative projects. Encouraging students to ask questions, think critically, and exploring diverse perspectives ensures they feel both challenged and supported as they develop confidence in their abilities.

Strong relationships are the foundation of effective teaching. I prioritise building powerful relationships with my students based on mutual respect. This allows me to meet the individual needs of my students to aid their development and independence in learning.”
