What a super Sports Day we had on Tuesday 11th June. Simply everyone enjoyed the morning either by watching or participating in a variety of different races.
First, we had the Sprint where the children ran as fast as they could from the start to the finishing line.
Then we had a very strange Egg and Spoon race (traditionally run at Sports Days in the UK) with a tennis racket “spoon” and a bean bag “egg”! This was followed by a team relay, which is quite tricky for young children to remember, and the “Rainbow Dash” where children collected coloured balls as quickly as possible. Finally, we had the mini Marathon.
The Mums’ and Dads’ races were hotly contended and were enormously entertaining! What good sports these parents are and what fun the children had.
After all the races were run, the scores were totaled while we enjoyed a well-earned rest and an ice cream treat. The trophies were awarded.
All the children received a special Kensington International Sports Day medal so everyone was a winner!! Apparently these are rarer than an Olympic Gold.
