This week in Over-3s it has been Eco-Week.
On Tuesday all classes were able to access activities offered by “Traidhos Three Generation Barge program” including a water activity involving ice, a plastic activity related to shopping and an animal activity with worms.
Our Nursery classes have been learning what happens to our rubbish after it goes in the bin and how some might end up in the oceans. They have created some beautiful junk model artworks (including a shark and a sea-scape), planted seeds and re-purposed t-shirts into bags.
The Reception classes followed the children’s interest in rockets to create some wonderful junk model spaceships (some even had aliens).
We will soon have some new signage around school as Year 1 have made posters and signs to remind others to make sustainable choices such as turning the lights off and recycling.
The week was rounded off with a beautiful exhibition, showcasing this work from all three year groups on Friday morning for the whole school community to see.
What a great week and we hope that this interest in the environment continues in our Kensington community.
