Book Week is such an enjoyable time in Term 2 with everyone focusing on and spending time with books. The Toddler classes looked at specific books such as Shark in the Park, Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star and Goldilocks and the Three Bears. They had great fun making and tasting their own porridge and creating starry hats and Tee shirts for World Book Day. The Nursery classes decided to become authors and wrote their own books based on their favourite things such as dinosaurs and the solar system. They even created their own covers for the books and will put them in our library for everyone to enjoy. Fabulous work Nursery! Reception really loved The Gruffalo and created their own role pay area with a cave, wall display of the characters and a whole woodland scene. Amazing! Year 1 were very sophisticated and used their superior literacy skills to write their own book reviews and create extended imaginary stories. How good to see our young authors honing their skills.
We celebrated Kensington World Book day on Thursday. Everyone dressed up and had great fun. I must make an extra special mention and thank those parents who made costumes at home with their children. VERY WELL DONE INDEED ?. I think everyone enjoyed the parades and performances which included singing and dancing.
